The story behind Warchal Strings

The Warchal Story

Warchal is a Slovak string maker founded in 2003 by professional violinist Bohdan Warchal Jr. The company draws on the experience of two generations of musicians, beginning with his father, Bohdan Warchal Sr., the renowned violinist and founder of the Slovak Chamber Orchestra.

Warchal develops violin, viola and cello strings with distinctive tonal identities. Its innovations include the helix violin E string, designed to reduce whistling, as well as string sets ranging from the warm, gut-like complexity of Amber and Timbre to the powerful projection of The Beast.

Rather than offering one universal sound, Warchal creates clearly differentiated ranges that allow musicians to choose strings suited to their instrument, playing style and tonal preferences.
