Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi was an 18th-century Italian violin maker, active in Milan from around 1748 to 1775. Known for his exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive tonal qualities, Landolfi’s violins blended the bright, direct tone of Giovanni Battista Guadagnini’s influence with warmth and richness. His instruments gained further fame through appearances in films like The Red Violin and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, cementing their iconic status in cinematic history.
