Augustin Hadelich Heads to Singapore After Salzburg, Lucerne and Berlin Philharmonic Performances

Violinist Augustin Hadelich performing in Singapore in September 2026

Violinist Augustin Hadelich is heading to Singapore for three performances in September 2026 following a high-profile run of appearances across some of Europe’s major festivals and concert halls.

The Grammy Award-winning violinist will perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra on 25 and 26 September before presenting a solo recital at Victoria Concert Hall on 27 September.

From Salzburg and Lucerne to Singapore

Hadelich’s recent European schedule has included performances at the Salzburg Festival with the Vienna Philharmonic and Christian Thielemann, where he performed Brahms’s Violin Concerto.

At the Lucerne Festival, he performed Barber’s Violin Concerto with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä, presented a recital with pianist Seong-Jin Cho and later joined the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko for Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.

That Berlin Philharmonic collaboration continued in Edinburgh at Usher Hall at the end of August.

On 2 September, Hadelich performed Barber’s Violin Concerto with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Manfred Honeck at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.

The concentrated run places his forthcoming Singapore appearances directly after a particularly active period on the international concert circuit.

Tchaikovsky with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra

Hadelich will appear at the Esplanade Concert Hall on Friday, 25 September and Saturday, 26 September at 7.30pm.

He will perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under French conductor Pierre Bleuse. Full programme and ticket information is available from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s official concert page.

The programme also includes Singaporean composer Zechariah Goh’s newly commissioned Dream(e)scapes, Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin Suite and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2.

A Solo Recital at Victoria Concert Hall

The following afternoon, Sunday 27 September at 4pm, Hadelich will move to Victoria Concert Hall for a solo violin recital. The official SSO recital page lists the full programme and ticket information.

The programme stretches from Baroque repertoire to twentieth-century and contemporary-influenced works, including Telemann’s Fantasia No. 8, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson’s Louisiana Blues Strut and Blue/s Forms, Ysaÿe’s Sonata No. 5, Mark O’Connor’s Menuhin Caprice, two Paganini Caprices and Bach’s Partita No. 2 in D minor.

For Singapore’s violin community, the three-day sequence offers two very different ways to hear Hadelich: first as concerto soloist with a full orchestra, and then alone on stage in repertoire that exposes the violin’s full technical and expressive range.

For developing players, watching a violinist perform at this level can also be useful for studying stage presence, concentration and musical communication. LVL Music’s guide to building confidence for young violinists on stage explores these skills in more detail.

Students who want to develop their own technique, musicianship and performance confidence can also explore LVL Music Academy’s violin lessons in Singapore.
